To strengthen the local Houston earth-based religious community
by providing a complete resource guide for all earth-based
religions in the local and surrounding areas, including, but
not limited to, shops, services, classes, events, non-profit
organizations, user submitted articles, as well as other services
not-directly related to earth-based religions that would be
of interest.
Our Vision:
To create a deeper sense of community for local Houston and
surrounding area pagans by providing a complete local resource
list and open forum for discussions.
Most importantly, this site is shaped by the community and
encourages participation by submitting articles, reviews or
information about a business or service.
The Temple of Elemental Magick started as a bit of a "leap
of faith" by a couple of local pagans who was inspired to
get off their duffs and make a difference.
There is a need in the greater Houston area for locating
the lost, alienated, ostracized, or burned-out veterans of
our Pagan/Witch wars and giving these cautious-with-good-reason
people a chance to come out and take pride in community spirit
again.
There is also a need to find our lost newbies - the ones
in the dark, crying out for guidance and looking for a tribal
sense of community.
We are interested in getting together with like minded pagans
in and around Houston to create (or re-create, as the case
may be) a sense of community in real life.
We realize that many Houston area Pagans already have personal
and/or family traditions that contribute to charitable organizations
as private individuals. Our intent is to pool strengths, talents,
and resources in an altruistic attempt to bond as a spiritual
and social group and to make a difference for the Pagan Community
in becoming more visible to the public at large. Our vision
is to "unite the clans" by rolling up our sleeves and digging
in.
Our ultimate goal is opening a Pagan Community Center sometime
in the near future.
What do we want from you? A sense of adventure, a willingness
to help a need, a bit of your time, and confidence in yourself
that you CAN make a difference in a small, but significant
way.
